A practical MLO troubleshooting sequence

Work through the client, access point and connection instead of changing every setting at once.

Start at the reported blocker

Run the checker with the information you have. A known prerequisite failure deserves attention before an unknown performance setting. Save the first report as a baseline, then change one item and run the same check again.

For driver updates, use the PC or adapter manufacturer’s supported package and keep its version in your own notes. Do not assume a higher driver number from another model is an appropriate update.

Check the access point that serves this client

A mesh system can contain different node generations. Standing near a new router does not guarantee the client is associated with it. Read the connected-device view in the router administration interface and follow the model-specific MLO setup instructions.

  • Confirm the active access point and intended network.
  • Check whether the MLO network is enabled.
  • Reconnect and collect fresh connection properties.
  • Keep a working network available while testing.

Evaluate the result you actually need

A streaming interruption, slow internet download and local file-transfer bottleneck are different problems. Define one repeatable test that represents yours. Compare results in the same room and at similar load rather than drawing conclusions from a single speed-test number.
